Once upon a time, there was a little girl whose love for dolls knew no bounds.

She adored their voluminous dresses, layers of delicate ruffles, puffed sleeves, and, above all, their bows.

As the years passed, her world expanded into the realms of Japanese anime and manga. Among the illustrated characters, doll-like beauty, and elaborate costumes, she rediscovered the aesthetic she had always loved.

Her mother owned a sewing machine, and so, what began as imagination on the pages of her notebooks would occasionally take on a life of its own. The little girl would sketch and design outfits inspired by her favorite characters, asking her mother to turn those illustrations into clothes she could wear herself.

Her fascination with illustrated worlds gave rise to a dream: to become an animator.

When she grew older, she pursued animation studies. Yet, over the course of a year and a half, she discovered that what she loved most was designing the costumes for the characters she created.

And perhaps, without even realizing it, her dream had never been simply to draw those characters, but to dress them.

That little girl was me.

My name is Karin Vasiliuk. I am a fashion designer, mother to Leo (and to Macho, my beloved dog), and happily married to Max.

Alongside my love for anime and manga, my teenage years brought a growing fascination with historical fashion and Gothic aesthetics, influences that also shaped my personal style.

Throughout my career, I have dressed international stars and leading artists, creating designs featured in music videos by prominent names in the industry and worn on stages around the world. My work has also appeared on magazine covers, in fashion editorials and campaigns, and on the Eurovision red carpet.

My designs have received recognition both in Israel and internationally, including a feature in Vogue Italia.

Puffed sleeves, giant bows, and striking silhouettes have become the signatures of BOOBA MACHO. A fashion house where doll-like aesthetics, timeless romance, and classic Hollywood glamour come together in a distinctive design language.
